Biography

This profile is part of the Bourque Name Study.

Joseph Bourg was born 15 Nov 1746. He was the son of Alexandre Bourg and Marie Hébert. He was baptized 21 June 1747 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. His godparents were Joseph Dugas and Elisabeth Leblanc.[1](SGA-3, 43b) [2] [3]

Joseph married Marie Félicité Morin (1754 - 1837) on 23 Jan 1776 in St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Québec, Canada.[4] Their children were:

  1. Marie Marguerite Bourg (1780 - 1852)
  2. Marie-Reine Bourg (1785 - 1852)
  3. Marie Archange (Bourque) Champagne (1789 - 1841).

He died in Beauceville, Lower Canada on 29 Mar 1823 and was buried in the parish cemetery.[5]
