Joseph Bourg was born 15 Nov 1746. He was the son of Alexandre Bourg and Marie Hébert. He was baptized 21 June 1747 at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. His godparents were Joseph Dugas and Elisabeth Leblanc.^[1](SGA-3, 43b) ^{[2] [3]}

Joseph married Marie Félicité Morin (1754 - 1837) on 23 Jan 1776 in St-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Québec, Canada.^[4] Their children were:

1. Marie Marguerite Bourg (1780 - 1852)
2. Marie-Reine Bourg (1785 - 1852)
3. Marie Archange (Bourque) Champagne (1789 - 1841).

He died in Beauceville, Lower Canada on 29 Mar 1823 and was buried in the parish cemetery.^[5]
