Biography

NOTICE: This person was an Acadian, lived in exile and immigrated to Louisiana. Her name hasn't been found on the Wall of Names, but she would qualify. Her father and mother and two siblings are on the wall. She would have been very young when her family came to Louisiana. More research is needed.

Marie Madeleine Bourg was born about 1763.[1] possibly in Philadelphia, where her parents, Joseph Bourg and Marie Landry, were exiled and detained during the Great Acadian Upheaval, from 1755-1763.[2][3]

She married Joseph Achille Breau, son of Alexis Breau and Marie Madeleine Trahan, on 19 February 1790 in St. James Parish, Louisiana.[4] They had the following known children:

  1. Marie Madeleine Breau (1793)

She died about 1 October 1799 in New Orleans, Louisiana.[5]
