Biography

This profile is part of the Bourque Name Study.

NOTE: She has a sister named Marie-Josephe born in 1729.

Marie Bourg was the daughter of Jean (-Baptiste) & Marie-Catherine Barrieau, born around 1712. [1]

She married around 1732 François Michel, son of Jacques Michel and Catherine Comeau, and widower of Marie-Anne Léger. [2][1]

She passed away between 1743 and 1751 when her husband remarried.[1]. Whether she died in Nova Scotia or Isle Saint jean is unknown. Francois was in Isle Saint Jean since about spring of 1751. No burial record was found for her in the Hebert translation of the parish records beginning with 1749.

Research Notes

Please note that in DGFA Marie was originally listed as the spouse of Alexis Dugas. This has been corrected in 2011. Her husband was François Michel, son of Jacques Michel and Catherine Comeau. No mention of Josèphe in her name.
