George TILLETT died leaving a will dated 8-Mar-1806, which was proved in Fairfax, by which he devised real estate to his children, including: James TILLETT who lived in Fairfax, Samuel TILLETT who lived in Nelson Co., KY, Nancy DAWSON who lived in Pendleton Co., KY, and Mildred POWELL who lived in Nicholas Co., KY. James TILLETT was named executor (Fairfax Co., VA Will bk I, pg 458). CONT Apparently disputes arose over the division of the property and Samuel TILLETT, William DAWSON and Mildred POWELL executed in KY powers of attorney authorizing Richard RATCLIFFE, a Fairfax attorney to represent them in the dispute. James TILLET commenced a friendly suit over the matter in 1809, and the Court rendered a decision that the lands be divided among the nine TILLETT children and their heirs. The three KY heirs then sold their shares to James TILLETT by deed dated 13-Nov-1811 (Fairfax Co., VA Deed bks J2, pg 174 & M2, pg 110-16). CONT Between 1811 and 1813, William DAWSON and also a John DAWSON (probably his sone) moved from Pendleton Co., KY to Bracken Co., KY. They were both listed as delinquent in payment of their Pendleton Co. 1813 taxes, and the comment was "Moved to Bracken Co." (Pendleton Co., KY Order bks A & B, pg 512, Janet K. PEASE, 19720. CONT William DAWSON died in Bracken Co. in 1854 at age 82, leaving a will dated 8-Feb-1845, which was probated in Mar-1854 in which he named his sons John, Reuben, William and James and his daughters Peggy UNDERWOOD, Nancy MALLORY, Hannah PEED, Elizabeth PRICE and Eliza DAWSON.
