Notes: In the Township papers Concession 1 Richmond is a statement by Ann Unger wife of Philip Unger says she is the daughter of William Bowen and his children are William, Peter, Victor, Daniel, John, Abraham, Margaret and her. There is another letter that doubts this.

Another letter dated June 15 1837 says that Lieutenant William Bowen left no children.

The wills of William and his wife Catherine dispute this.

His Will dated 1803 mentions daughters Ann, Cornelia and Peggy, and sons William, Peter, Victor, Abraham and Daniel.
