Rites conducted for Abe Bowen
RALEIGH - Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Assembly of Jesus Christ Church for Abe F. Bowen, 88, of Raleigh, who died Monday at Raleigh Hospital following a lengthy illness.
The Rev. David Watts and the Rev. Mont officiated. Interment was in Merchant Cemetery. Upton-Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include eight sons, Pat, Truman, Perry and Howard Bowen, all of Raleigh; Benton Bowen of Newton, Delton Bowen of Alabama, Clyde Bowen of Brookville, and Clay [Carl] Bowen of Pascagoula; 58 grandchildren and 105 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Bowen of Raleigh; and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Sanford [Sandifer] of Raleigh, Mrs. Betty Crosley [Crossland] of Polkville, and Mrs. Sally Yates [Yeats] of Monroe, La.
