Biography

James was born in 1721, probably at Swansea, Massachusetts, the son of James and Margaret (Childs) Bowen[1].

James married Ann Thurber in Swansea in 1744[2][3]. They settled in Warren, Rhode Island, where their children are recorded. Those children were:[4]

  • Jeremiah b. 30 November 1744
  • Josiah b. 25 July 1752
  • Mary b. 15 August 1755
  • Robe b. 19 February 1757
  • Huldah b. 9 June 1759
  • Anne b. 23 June 1761
  • James b. 14 or 15 July 1765
  • Margaret b. 1 August 1768

James passed away in 1793 and is buried at the Tyler Point Cemetery in Barrington.[5]
