== Letitia Bowen was the daughter of Jane Rees and George Bowen, Letitia was born in the Gower Glamorganshire, possibly Penclawdd. Her parents were living together in Penclawdd in the Gower, near Swansea as man and wife. They did not marry until December 1873 in Hasguard parish church. The couple had three children, before they married, these are Letitia (b 1867) George (b 1868) and John (b 1870).

Letitia can be found living with her parents on the 1881 census for St Ishmael’s parish, at Great Hoaton. With Letitia and her parents are her two brother’s George and John. Letitia is still living at the family home in 1891, but this time the address is given as Bushford Hill Hasguard. Her father is still working as an agricultural labourer. With Letitia and her parents are, her widowed grandmother Martha Rees, and her (Letitia’s) great aunt Mary Lewis. Three years after the 1891 census Letitia’s mother died, and was buried 17th May at St Bride’s parish church. Her father then married for a second time. And another three years after that Letitia herself married Thomas Davies in 1896 at Talbenny parish church. One of the witnesses was either her father or brother George.

By 1901 Letitia and Thomas were living at a place known as Combs in the old parish of Steynton. Nowadays it is part of Milford Haven. Thomas is working as a labourer. But by the time of the next census in 1911 his occupation is receded as a farmer. The couple are farming at Roman Castle in the old parish of Walwyns Castle. They have a daughter named Ethel Letitia, who was born in 1802 in Steynton. As yet I have not traced the couple beyond the 1911 census. And I have not found a birth record for Ethel.
