Biography

Abijah married Abiel Wood in December of 1683 in Middleborough, MA. They were Puritans and were among the first twenty founders of the first church of Middleborough in 1694, Abijahs' mother, Elizabeth, and (2) husband Rev. Samuel Fuller were also among the first founders. Rev. Fuller becoming its first Pastor.

Abijahs father, Thomas Bowen, had died shortly before Abijah was born. Abijah had one brother, Richard Bowen, and a 'stepbrother' Samuel Fuller, who was Rev. Fullers son, from his (1) marriage

She is buried in Nemasket Hill Cemetery in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Her tombstone reads: "IN MEMORY OF MRS ABIJAH WOOD WIDOW OF ABIAL WOOD WHO DECEACED MAY YE 21 1746 IN YE 83RD YEAR OF HER AGE"

Probate

Abijah died intestate and on 3 June 1746, Timothy Wood was granted the administration of her estate.[1]

Her inventory was taken on 16 June 1746 in Halifax.[2]
