Sara and her husband, Peter, lived in Shelby county, IA and near Marne, IA.
She died on a Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George J. Nielsen, in Kimballton, IA. She had made her home there following her husband's death in 1932. An infected leg was the direct cause of her death after several months of ill health.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock PM on Sunday August 2, 1942 at the Marne Methodist church with Rev. C. J. Henderson officiating. Internment was in the Brighton township cemetery.
