John Chester is sometimes confused with Johannes or John Bowers, son of Christian P. Bowers. Christian' children are listed in his will, and they are all accounted for. Moreover, in the 1830 Census, John is listed as John of Henry. The Henry Bowers, Sr. family lived in the Stony Creek, Columbia Furnace area of Shenandoah Co.,; the Christian P family lived in the Forestville area. They were 15 to 20 miles apart.

Bowers-7813 and Bowers-3966 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same folks. I am pretty sure that JC was born in Va. Particularly in Shenandoah Co., probably on Little Stoney Creek, near Columbia Furnace. He married a Miller from about this same location. His brother Henry married a Coffelt, again from this same location. Finally, there sister married Isaac Funkhouser from nearby.
