Adam Bowers was born in 1842 in Hesse, Hessen, Germany as the third child of Martin "Bauer" Bowers and Elizabeth Stephan. He had five siblings, namely: Catherine, Margaret, Gearhart, John Martin, and Elisabeth. He died on 09 Dec 1866 in Randolph, Portage, Ohio, USA. Adam Bowers was buried (St Joseph Cemetery, Randolph, Portage County, Ohio, Untied States of America). War Vet: (Civil War 1861-62) He lived in Wayne, Tippecanoe, Indiana, USA in 1860. He served in the military on 18 Mar 1862 (Co G Iowa Infantry). He lived in Brimfield, Portage, Ohio, United States on 01 Jul 1863. Adam Bowers and Elisabeth Shuman had the following children: 1.Margareta Bowers was born in Feb 1865 in Portage County, Ohio, USA. She died after 1942. She married Burleigh C. Atwood on 10 Oct 1885 in Portage County, Ohio, USA. Adam Bowers, Company G. Iowa 12th. he was wounded at Shiloh and Discharged for disability Sept. 26, 1862, Quincy, Ill. Mustered Nov. 1, 1861. Discharged for disability Sept. 26, 1862, Quincy, Illinois.
