"Esther Bowes Cox (1740-1841), who, following the marriage of John Sayres and Rachel Bowes in 1751, is said to have made her home with sisters of her mother, the former Rachelle Le Chevalier"[1].
Esther married Colonel John Cox. They lived at Bloomsbury Estate in New Jersey. Their life there is beautifully described in a history of the Estate[2].
After 1784 Esther's widowed sister Mary Sayre came to live with them (from New Brunswick where they'd gone as British Loyalists), bringing some of her younger children.
