Catherine was born in November 1861[1] in Virginia, the youngest of twelve children and six daughters of Daniel Bowman and Sallie Miller. [2]
On 9 April 1884, when she was twenty-two, she married [[Miller-18547|Robert Miller][3]] at an unknown location. She had borne him seven children by 1900.
