Biography

Robert F. Bowman, 89, of Brainerd died on Friday, February 7, 2014 at his home looking out his window at North Long Lake. A gathering of family and friends for Robert will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 2:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.

Robert was born on May 28, 1924 in St. Paul, MN to Francis and Stella (Houghton) Bowman. Since Robert was a young boy, his passion was always to be at the lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and playing piano. He married Lorraine Hammon in St. Paul, MN on January 23, 1948. Robert worked for 3M for over 39 years. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Bonnie (Frank) Haski of Grand Marias, MN, and Debbie (Tom) Berg of Brainerd, MN; son, Kurt Bowman of Oakdale, MN; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Lorraine.
