10. Online Publication by Barb Reininger, Red Oak Grove Cemetery, Repository Name: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~barbs/cem_Red_Oak_Grove.html; Repository: #R12 NOTE Source Medium: Internet http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~barbs/cem_Red_Oak_Grove.html Take 221 e. out of Floyd. Take a left on Bethlehem Church Rd NE (1st road after crossing the little river). Take a left at the next fork – Red Oak Grove Rd N. The cemetery is on a hill across from Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. Fenced in and well maintained but Mary Ann Sutphin, who had been to this cemetery many years ago, was surprised at how badly some of the stones had deteriorated at this date. Part 1: A blend of my account of this cemetery June 2003, and an account by Mr. Marvin U. Neighbors, deceased 1982. My entries are in black and I only had time to record about ½ of the cemetery. I started at the farthest point to the left of the gate to one row to the right of the gate. Anything in (), I'm not sure of but Mr. Neighbors account filled in many of these holes. Everything noted in red is from Mr Neighbors. Part 2: Mary Anne Sutphin notes from her visit to this cemetery. Part 3: Last are notes from an unsigned account but Judy Blackwell believes this may be the work of Evelyn Rutrough. On the last page a note states: copied 1970 and kept up to date. What I found interesting is that the 1st 8 pages is in the same order as Mr. Neighbors almost exactly. Maybe they worked together??? But because it is almost exactly the same as Mr. Neighbors, I m only going to note the differences.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:

Hi A.,

Just to let you know, when Peter's profiles were merged, all of the data was piled on top of each other, creating duplicates with different file numbers, etc. Honestly, it made a bit of a mess of all your hard work. I also noticed that many of the links, most from Ancestry, don't work any more. They should be removed or replaced.

(If you already know this and just haven't had time, please skip this part of the note.) If you look at Nancy's profile (Bowman-4157), you will be able to see the new standard. I prefer FamilySearch since the links seem to stand up better over time. If you prefer Ancestry, here's a link to citing their resources https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Links_to_Ancestry.

The first time you cite a reference, you put the entire link. Here's the 1850 Census record from Nancy's profile:

<ref name=1850C/>"United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8DM-69F : 4 April 2020), Nancy Bower in household of Lewis Bower, Floyd county, part of, Floyd, Virginia, United States; citing family 404, NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).</ref>

Every time the source was cited after that, I put <ref name=1850C/>. The identifying name can be whatever you like as long as it's short and has letters and numbers.

If this leaves you with questions, I'm happy to help.

Respectfully,

Claire ~ WikiTree Data doctor
