Hi Val,

Thanks for joining WikiTree! As a mentor I'm here to help. If you have questions or problems with WikiTree, post a comment on my profile page or send a private message.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so look for duplicates before adding new profiles. Remember to add dates and locations. And if you have royal ancestors, contact the EuroAristo Project to see about connecting to pre-existing royal lines.

If you feel lost, start with How To Use WikiTree, and check out the Help Index.

Welcome Val,

Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so don’t forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Happy Hunting,

Jess

Hi. I am creating a family tree (so far on Ancestry.com) and have progressed to approximately 170 on my tree so far. I have created a GEDCOm file tonight and imported it to WIKI tree. I am serious about extending my knowledge and making connections with descendants, sharing knowledge and deepening my understanding of my antecedents. I am hoping you will let me join. Regards Val Boyd

Hi Val,

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful. step-by-step of the process

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

When you've got a moment can you just say hello and introduce yourself and verify that you wish to be confirmed as a full contributing member.
