Thomas William Bozeman was born 1795 in Georgia.
Thomas was living in Wilkinson County, Georgia in 1820. Thomas
and his mother Sarah drew land in the 1820 Georgia Land Lottery. Sarah
was listed in the lottery as a widow. Thomas married Sallie Montgomery in
Wilkinson County. Thomas lived in Crawford , Talbot, and Taylor Counties in
Georgia. Thomas died 1858 in Taylor County. Thomas's children moved to
Marion County, Alabama about 1857. Thomas's mother Sarah made the trip
to Marion County. In the 1860 Marion County, Alabama Census Sarah is listed as being 103 years old and was born in South Carolina. Living with Sarah in 1860 was two children, Martha 18 years old and Lurden (pb. Jordan) 16 years old (male) both was born in SC. [15]
Almost positive now that the widow Sarah Bozeman (1757-1863) was the sister of Samuel Brady, the children of Patrick and Delihia Brady. On the will of Samuel Brady, Thomas Bozeman was listed as a nephew. Samuel's wife Sarah's maiden name was Saffold. So this means the widow Sarah Bozeman who drew land in the 1820 land lottery was Sarah Brady Bozeman.
Thomas Bozeman wrote to his mother--
NOTE: Ruth Montgomery. I disagree. Thomas Bozeman's letter, below, was written to his mother. This letter is in the Montgomery Family Papers file at Emory University in Atlanta. I believe this letter was written to Sally Montgomery Bozeman's mother Margaret, sister Ellender Montgomery and brother Samuel Montgomery.
