Nathaniel Bradford, first-born son of Nathaniel Bradford and Alice (Smith) Bradford was born in Northampton County, Virginia on 23 June 1661.
Signed 18 October 1664, Nathaniel Sr. granted to Nathaniel Jr. as "my heir and the abovesaid heir of Smith" (i.e., Alice Smith's father Richard), 800 acres being part of the 1400 acres purchased by Bradford Sr. from Col. Edmund Scarbourgh, now the home plantation of Matchapreage (Accomack County, Virginia Court Order Abstracts,1663-1666, Vol. 1).
In Nathaniel Sr.'s will of 1690, Nathaniel Jr. was replaced by William as the primary heir because Nathaniel Jr. had apparently died before 1690. It does not appear that Nathaniel had married or had children as no evidence has surfaced.
