David was born about 1836. David Bradford ...
The 1850 census taken in District 10, White, Tennessee, has a David C. Bradford born abt 1837. This census also has a David Bradford born abt 1833 in the same household as David C. note: HOH is John A. Bradford born abt 1800. note: Some people have interpreted the name to be Daniel Bradford on the 1850 census but it looks more like David to me. Also the 1880 census lists name as David.
The 1870 census taken in District 10, Putnam, Tennessee has HOH as Crockett Bradford born abt 1836.
The 1880 census taken in District 10, Putnam, TN, lists HOH as David Bradford born abt 1832 in TN. The spouse and children with the exception the following exception, seem to be the same houshold members as listed in the 1870 census. Exceptions are the two oldest boys which are not on the 1880 census and a younger sister Mary born abt 1872 added to the family in the 1880 census.
I recall my Aunt being upset about the name "Crockett" being used on a census making it impossible to trace our lineage. I'm not sure about my memory but it seems like she said Daniel used the name Crockett on the census record. I think I have been able to piece it together using the 1850, 1870, and 1880 census. However; I am still uncertain as to the date of birth.
