William Bond is appointed Surveyor of the Road from Scotts Church Road up to the Middle Road with his own hands, the hands of James Hudgins, John Flippen, William Austin, Mary Flippen (widow of John), Jesse Mosby, Alexander Roseberry, William Sanderson, Senr and junr, Thomas Hill, James and Clement Brown, William Wade, Wm. H. Wade and John Bradley.

James and Lukey Hudgens names appear on the Will of Samuel Allen, Cumberland County, Will Book 2, p.2 28 May 1769. They signed as witnesses.
