It also makes reference to Leah Armstrong. It was not unusual for the father of children to be referred to as "guardian" to his own children with regard to property inherited from his wife's father. James Bradley, guardian to John Wheeler, registered 50 October, 1846. This indenture, made and entered into (9 Feb 1846) between James Bradley guardian of Thomas Bradley, Ellen Bradley, Stockley M. Bradley, William Bradley, Clinton A. Bradley & Louisiana Bradley, minor heirs of Lucinda Bradley, dec'd, formerly Lucinda Armstrong of the first part and John Wheeler of the other part of the County of Hawkins in the State of Tennessee in the enumeration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars...one lot of land which fell to Lucinda Bradley and her heirs in teh division of the lands of Thomas Armstrong, dec'd, together with all their right and interest that they have in and to Leah Armstrong's dower to the said tracts of land..., the lot No. 3 in said plot was allotted to Lucinda Bradley
