Biography

Harriet Bradley Hays was born on 15 Dec 1825 in Bradleytown, Venango County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Bradley and Mary Jennings. Harriet died on 18 Mar 1902 (aged 76) in Diamond, Venango County, Pennsylvania and is buried at the Sunville Cemetery Venango County, Pennsylvania.[1]

Original Information: Had a stroke lived 4 days after. passed away 2 months after husband. Raised Samuel Hays Bradley nephew, his mother died in childbirth. Short , heavy not over 5'3" Quiet , serious disposition Hard of hearing. When Harriets mother died she remained with her grandmother until her marriage to Samuel. First years together were on Sunville farm. Harriet and Samuel had a courtship which led to marriage . Her brother would say " It looks Haysey around here" if he had been there she was silent if he hadnt she said no it doesnt. Moved into Sunville proper where they made permanent home. Children Martha Rebecca, Hannah Ellen, Ruhama Jane, Alice Clarissa,David, Laura Anna, and Mary Amanda. Daughters sold farm in 1903 to S.B. Matthews later was transferredto Messners.
