Alva passed away about 1914. His obituary, published in the Ogdensburg Journal, said the following:
"Alva Harry Bradley was born in Crysler, Ont., Feb. 28, 1864, where his early life was spent. When he was 13 years old he came to this country and located in Morristown. He married Miss Eva May Thompson at Iroquois in 1889. Mr. Bradley was a practical miller and came to this city three years ago and entered the employ of Bill, Bell & Co., having in charge the custom mill on River street. Mr. Bradley was stricken about a year ago with a disease from which he died Thursday morning, July 30th, at his home, 36 King street. Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife and two children, Fred in the employ of the Ogdensburg Gas Co., and Vida, a teacher in No. 4 school, and two brothers, both of Smith's Falls, Canada. Mr. Bradley was a man of splendid character, upright and honorable in all his dealings and a most lovable and devoted husband and father and a most kind neighbor. He will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends. His funeral was held from his late home, 36 King street, Saturday morning, at 10 o'clock, Rev. A. M. Wight, pastor of the First Congregational church this city, officiating. Burial was at Morristown, N. Y. Miss Edith McCormick rendered two very appropriate songs at the service."[4]
