Joseph Bradley was married to Ann Platts by Banns on 31 Oct 1768 in Breedon on the Hill, Leicestershire, England. Thomas Gadsby, Joseph Gadsby, Hannah Cartwright and Jane Platts were witnesses. Walter Sellon, the Curate of Breedon officiated.

A Joseph Bradley was killed by a blast at the lime kilns and buried in Breedon on 1 Sep 1791. This may be this Joseph Bradley, as his son, Joseph Bradley was alive on 9th October 1791 when he stopped his marriage banns.
