Biography

Mary (Bradstreet) Kimball immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Mary Bradstreet was born in England about 1633, and emigrated to New England with her parents, Humphrey and Bridget Bradstreet, on the ship Elizabeth in 1634. [1]

In the will of her father Humphrey Bradstreet, dated July 1655, she is called Mary Bradtreet, so their marriage took place sometime between that date and the birth of son John in 1657. [2]

In her mother's will, proved March 28, 1666, she is named as Mary Kemball. [3]

She married John Kimball[4] after the death of her father Humphrey, in about 1656. He was born about 1631, the son of Richard and Ursula (Scott) Kimball, [5]and arrived in New England on the same ship, age 3. [1]

It is disputed whether Mary died in1666, after her mother's will was proved, and John Kemball married second, Mary Jordan in that year, or if Mary (Bradstreet) Kimball died about 1675, related to childbirth, when son Joseph was born. [5] [6]

The death date May 6, 1698 at Ipswich is the date recorded for the death of John Kimball, not his wife Mary.
