Simon Bradstreet was admitted to Queens College at Cambridge on 30 July 1570, and earned his B.A. in 1575/6 and M.A. in 1579. He was a Fellow of Emmanuel College.
He was ordained a deacon and a priest at Lincoln on 22 November 1594, and became Rector of Hinderclay, Suffolk, serving two months in late 1595. He was named vicar at Horbling from 1596 to his death in 1621.
Simon Bradstreet of Horbling wrote a will in 1620, which named his wife Margaret, eldest son Samuel, second son Simon, and his youngest son John.
