Biography

Henry was born on 12 April 1682 at Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1] [2] [3]

Henry came with his parents to Bristol probably during the early 1690s.

He married first Susannah [Munro] by 1 August 1708, when both were baptized at the Church of Christ in Bristol. Children:[4]

  • Abigail b. 1 May 1709, bap. July 1709; m. Samuel Morris in 1728
  • Susannah b. 28 July 1712, bap. 7 September 1712; poss. m. William Hoar in 1734
  • John b. 14 February 1714/5, bap. 24 July 1715
  • Anne or Alice b. 25 May 1717, bap. probably 1717; poss. m. Simeon Potter in 1741
  • Henry b. 8 June 1719; d. 26 October 1739[5]

(Susannah possibly also had marriage intentions with John Day in 1731, since no marriage is known to have occurred.)

Susannah died on 27 November 1724.[5]

Henry is undoubtedly the Henry Bragg who married Elizabeth Davis after intentions 21 July 1727.[6]

Children:

  • Elizabeth b. 10 July 1728, m. David Wilson on 12 September 1751
  • [child] d. 9 April 1730
  • (possibly) [child] d. 19 May 1735 (father's name not given)
  • (possibly) Sarah d. 22 April 1764, unmarried
  • (possibly) Catherine m. Nathaniel Munro on 11 July 1756
  • [child] d. 23 November 1743

Elizabeth died in 1741.

Henry died on 23 January 1768 at Bristol, Rhode Island. The record called him 90 years old, which was probably rounded.[7]
