Betty Lou Bredemus was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Elizabeth Ellen (née Billingsley) and Wendell John Bredemus (1904-1955),[2] a football player.
She was the mother of Julia Roberts, of Hollywood fame.
