Biography

This Esther Breed, born 18 Jan 1782 @ Stonington, Connecticut, was the first child of Esther (Wheeler) & Stephen Breed.

She married in 1801 @ Groton, Connecticut, Oliver Grant IV (1779-1813). Their marriage notice was published June 9, 1802 [1].

They had 4 children:

  1. Mary Esther Grant (1802-1842)
  2. Oliver Burrows Grant (1804-1891)
  3. Ann Miner (Grant) Safford (1807-1875); married Orrin Safford
  4. Lucy Breed (Grant) Spalding (1810-1888); married Daniel Brown Spalding

Esther Grant was enumerated in the household of her son Oliver Burrows Grant during the 1860 census of Stonington, Connecticut [2].

Esther (Breed) Grant died 9 Oct 1861 @ North Stonington, Connecticut. Her grave is in Evergreen Cemetery, Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA [3].
