Biography

This Mary Breed, b. 20 May 1795 at Norwich, Connecticut, was the sixth child of Lydia (Perkins) Breed (1767-1861) & Shubael Breed (1759-1840) ^[1],^[2].

She married in 1819 in Norwich, Connecticut, Henry H. Coit (1791-1870) of Liverpool, Ohio, son of Daniel Lathrop and Elizabeth (Bill) Coit. The date of their marriage may have been 17 Feb ^[3], or 23 Feb ^[4], depending upon which notice is more accurate.

They had 5 children:

1. Charles Breed Coit (1820-1907)
2. William Henry Coit (1823-1899)
3. Elizabeth (Coit) Kirby (1827-1909)
4. Maria (Coit) Kirby (1830-1876)
5. Mary Perit (Coit) Holmes (1839-1897)

Mary (Breed) Coit died 18 May 1856. Her grave is in East Cleveland Township Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA ^[5].
