Mary was born c. 1697 in Lancaster County, Virginia.[1] She was a daughter of Hugh Brent.[2] The user submitted genealogies on FamilySearch.com list Katherine Planter as the mother of Mary Brent.[3]
Family
Mary married on 12 or the 18 of August 1724, as his 2nd, to James Carter of Barford.[4] After their marriage, James and Mary removed to Stafford Virginia.[5] James had married first to Hannah Neale, and she died Oct. 9, 1722.[5] Mary became step-mother to the four children of James' first marriage: Thomas, Daniel, Presley, and Hannah.[5]
