Notes
Mayflower Families in Progress is disputing the claim by Brewster Genealogy, (1908), which may well have been copied from Morgan Gen., that the Joseph Morgan who married Ruth Brewster is not the son of John and Elizabeth (Jones) (Williams) Morgan. Neither Brewster Gen. nor Morgan Gen. provide any documentation to support that claim and none can be found to support any of the vitals provided.
MFIP feels, according to recorded vital records for Preston, CT and the naming of the children of John and Ruth, that it is more likely that Joseph is the son of Isaac and Mary (Spaulding) Morgan.
The 2019 Edition of the Brewster Silver Book indicates that Joseph, who was baptized on 27 April 1701 and died on 24 May 1764, was the son of John and Elizabeth (Jones) (Williams) Morgan.[2]
