[IV~1525] GENEVA BRICKER
The fourth child of EPHRAIM and ELLEN ROSELIA (COOK) BRICKER, born at Breslau, Ontario in 1875, was one of the original members of the Kitchener-Waterloo Ladies Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Freeport Sanatorium Ladies’ Auxiliary.
In 1900, at Kitchener, Ontario, GENEVA married ALFRED HARTMAN SNYDER, born at Breslau, Ontario in 1873,[ a son of] Mr. and Mrs. SIMON SNYDER.
ALFRED attended Upper Canada College where he was a star football player. Keenly interested in sports, he was a member of Kitchener's first Ontario Hockey Association (intermediate team), and played soccer with the famous Ranger Club.
He enjoyed cycling, and once participated in a relay race from Windsor to Kingston, Ontario. Another favorite pastime was lawn bowling, and he was several times on the winning rlnk at the noted International Tourney, then held annually at Buffalo, New York. He was the first President of the Union Badminton Club, and at one time President of the Grand River Country Club. One of the founders of the Waterloo Young Men's Club, he was its First President, and for many years was a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Rotary Club.
ALFRED and his brother, HERBERT, founded Snyder's Ltd., a well-known furniture manufacturing concern. ALFRED was Vice- President of this Company,and his brother, President.
GENEVA and ALFRED were members of the Westmount Golf and Country Club and of the United Church.
They had four children
HELEN GERTRUDE SNYDER SMYTH (1902-1973)
STUART ALFRED SNYDER (1903-1942)
MURRAY HARTMAN SNYDER (1908-1964) and
ISOBEL ELEANOR SNYDER STEADMAN (1914-1989)
ALFRED died in 1938 of a heart condition, and
GENEVA passed away in 1947.
Both are buried in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, Ontario

Mrs. GENEVA EDNA SNYDER, 72, died yesterday at her residence, 39 George St., Waterloo.
--Daughter of the late EPHRAIM BRICKER and ROZELIA COOK, she was born February. 24, 1875, at Breslau Township, Waterloo...
She was the widow of ALFRED HARTMANN SNYDER, who predeceased her in 1938.
She attended First United Church, Waterloo, and was a member of First United Ladles Aid, Watterloo, Auxiliary to Freeport Sanatorium and the Westmount Golf and Country Club.
She is survived by one son:
MURRAY HARTMAN SNYDER of Montreal

Mrs. DOUGLAS (ISOBEL ELEANOR) STEADMAN, Toronto
......nine grandchildren;...two brothers:

GORDON JOSEPH BRICKER, of Toronto
-----and one sister:
Mrs. LEWIS EDWARD (LAURA GEORGINA) CLEMENS, of Kitchener.
[Another son: STUART ALFRED SNYDER, predeceased her in 1942].
The body is resting at the residence 89 George St., Waterloo, where the public funeral will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. with Rev. A.R. Cragg of First United Church officiating.
Interment will be in Woodland Mausoleum.
