Biography

Benjamin was born 12 May 1816 in Waterloo, Upper Canada, and was the son of Peter Bricker and Elizabeth Cress.[1][2] He passed away on 23 Jul 1866 in Wellesley Township, Waterloo, Canada West.[3]

In 1851 Benjamin was residing with his parents in Wellesley, Waterloo. The household consisted of his parents Peter and Elizabeth, his brother John C Bricker, John's wife Sarah and their three children Esther, Jacob and Nancy.[4] By 1861 both of Benjamin's parents were deceased and he had moved in with his brother John's family in Wellesley. John's household consisted of his children Esther, Jacob, Nance, Elias, and Elizabeth; his brother Benjamin, and Elizabeth Cress.[5]

Benjamin never married and passed away in 23 Jul 1866 in Wellesley Township. He is buried in Martin's Mennonite Meeting House Cemetery in Waterloo.[3]

Notes

  • Although Mennonite records show that Benjamin died as an infant, the date of birth in those records match the estimated date of birth obtained from his headstone which indicated his age at the time of death in 1866 and he is residing with his parents in the 1851 Canada Census and with his brother John in the 1861 Canada Census.[1]
  • Benjamin is buried in the same cemetery as his parents

Bricker-998 and Bricker-787 appear to represent the same person because: Although one profile indicates that he died as an infant, the date of birth and parent relationships indicate that that is in error.
