Note N747Obit from the Lufkin Daily News on 11 Feb 2004 Wyman M. Bridges, Lt.Col., USAF (ret) Services for Wyman M. Bridges, Lt.Col., USAF (ret), 83, of Huntington, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Dr. Darryl R. Smith and Rev. Grady Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Bridges was born April 10, 1920, in Center, Texas, the son of Mary (Grubbs) and Rodgers Bridges; and he died Monday, February 9, 2004, in a Lufkin hospital. Mr. Bridges was retired from the United States Air Force, following 30 years of service. At the time of his retirement, he had attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and had been stationed in numerous places including Japan, Okinawa and Germany. Mr. Bridges was a 50-year member of the Homer Masonic Lodge No. 254, A.F. & A.M., in Huntington and of the Arabia Temple of the Shrine. He had resided in Huntington for the past 33 years. Survivors include his wife, Sue Lowery Bridges of Huntington; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Joyce Bridges of Sierra Vista, California, and Tracey and Nancy Bridges of Charlotte, North Carolina; and brother, Merrill Bridges of Dallas. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his nephews. Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Directors of Lufkin.
