Joseph Bridges was born on 8 August 1852 in Newnham, Hertfordshire, England, the son of Matilda (Worboys) Bridges and Olley George Bridges.[citation needed]
He married Martha Sutcliffe in 1875 in Victoria, Australia.[1]
