Research Notes

Barclay, Mrs. John (Florence), Briggs Families of Taunton, Massachusetts, The American Genealogist, Volume 33 (1957), page 83-86
The above source has been used to prove that Elizabeth Briggs that married Elkanah Bobet was the daughter of Jonathan and Experience Briggs. A review of the document indicates that while the 8 sons were all named in the settlement of the will, the 5 daughters are not named. The names provided for the 5 daughters in this article show no basis in records.

Briggs-1063 and Briggs-679 appear to represent the same person because: Hi -- I'd like to suggest a merge of these two Elizabeth Briggs - although I'm not sure there is enough information to actually do the merge.

I found the marriage information for two people with the same names in the Massachusetts, Town Marriage Records, 1620-1850 on Ancestry. Could be the wrong people (see http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=mamarr&h=17905&indiv=try).

The Elizabeth Briggs who was born on 14 March 1671 in Taunton was dau of William Briggs and Sarah Macumber, but she was not the wife of Elkanah Bobet.

She either needs to be detached from William Briggs and Sarah Macomber as her parents, or detached from Elkanah Bobet and his children. "Often confused with Elizabeth3(Jonathan2, Clement1) who mar. Elkanah2 Bobet" per Edna Anne Hannibal, Claude W. Barlow, "Richard, William and Hugh, son of John Briggs of Taunton, Massachusetts," in NEHGR, 127(Apr 1971):82
