Ruth (Briggs) Spencer was born on 3 Sep 1747 in East Greenwich, Kent, Colony of Rhode Island, daughter of Benjamin Briggs Jr. (1723 - 1799) and Theodosia (Sweet) Briggs (1727 - ).
