Alden Briggs was born on March 17, 1763 in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Seth Briggs and Abigail Church. ^{[1] [2]}

He married Mercy Hatch on October 9, 1788 at Pembroke. ^{[1] [2]}
