Biography

Jessy was the youngest daughter of James Bright and Sophia Hatchard.^[1]

She married William Ashton, a surgeon-major in the army medical department, on June 5, 1873 at St. Luke's Church, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.^[2][3] Three of their children were born in India: Fanny Isabel in 1874 ^[4], Ellen Maud in 1875 ^[5] and Mary in 1883.^[6] Mary died about a month after she was born.^[7] A son, William, was born in Cheltenham, about 1887.^[8]

She died in 1934.^[9]
