Robert Britt was born around 1350 in Halwell Wood, Plymouth Parish, Devonshire, England. He was the son of Robert Brytte (Britt), b: ca. 1320 and Ebote Brytte, b: ca. 1330. The family were wealthy landowners in Staddiscombe (aka "Slottiscombe" - a misspelling) in Plymouth Parish, Devonshire, England.

Robert Brytte (Britt)'s wife name is Unknown.

Robert Britt had 2 known daughters:

1. Margaret - b: ca. 1390 who married Thomas Wise
2. Elizabeth - b: ca. 1400 who married Sir John Fortescue, MP

Robert Britt is said to have died around 1404 on his estate at "Slottiscombe," aka Staddiscombe, Plymouth, Devonshire, England. Thomas and Margaret Wise inherited the bulk of his estate, including lands at Stoke Damarel, Plymouth, where their son built "Mount Wise," the manor house that became that aristocratic family's seat for nearly 200 years into the 17th Century.
