John Britt, the son of John Britt Sr. was born about 1774 in Robeson County, North Carolina. He married Mary Cox 1793 in Robeson County, North Carolina. She was born Abt. 1774 in Bladen County. North Carolina.

Children of JOHN BRITT and MARY COX are:

  1. SUSANNAH BRITT, b. Abt. 1794.
  2. ALLIS BRITT, b. 1798, Robeson County, North Carolina; d. 1868, Robeson County, North Carolina.
  3. LAWRENCE BRYANT BRITT, SR., b. October 11, 1800, Robeson County, North Carolina; d. 1852, Jackson Gap, Tallapposa County, Alabama.
  4. CHRISTINA BRITT, b. Abt. 1802, Robeson County, North Carolina.
  5. SARAH BRITT, b. 1810.
  6. ORRAH BRITT, b. 1813, Robeson County, North Carolina.

John died about 1829 in Robeson County, North Carolina. . In his will (dated November 24 1829) he leaves 250 acres and two negroes Tamer and Berk to his wife Mary. Their son Larry receives his mother's share after her death, plus negroes Bob, Drew, Joe, Wright, Ben, Jerry, Henry, Jim, Willis, Tener. The other children named in John BRITT's will are daughter Susannah, wife of Charles IVEY; daughter Allis, wife of Fleetwood WALTERS; Christian, wife of John SMITH; Orrah, wife of Cade IVEY; and daughters Mary BRITT and Sarah Jane BRITT.
