Biography

Lewis was born in 1887. In the 1900 census, Lewis (age 13) was the son of Alfred Britt in Burnt Swamp Township, Robeson, North Carolina, United States.^[1]

Lewis (age 20), son of Alfred Britt & Theadocia Britt, married Ella Candell (age 21) on 24 June 1915 in Saint Pauls, Robeson, North Carolina, United States.^[2]

Lewis and Ella had at least six children:

Leo Thomas (b: 08/20/1916 in Davie County, NC d: 04/29/1981 in Wake County, NC). He was married to Margaret Guinn (b: 11/18/1916 d: 07/16/2010 in Wake County, NC). They are both buried in Greenmount Cemetery in Wake County, NC.
