Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church, after Banns, by me, {M. W. Wilson?}, Vicar. This Marriage was solemnized between us, Frederick Charles Godfrey and Emma Elizabeth Munden in the Presence of John Silvester Munden and Alice Spring[4].
In the England Census of 1871, Emma Elizabeth is living with her parents James Anning (Munden) and Martha (Payne) and siblings Mary Ann, John, Joseph, Madalina, Walter and Charles at 11 High Street, Village of New Brompton, Gillingham Parish, Medway District, near the Town of Chatham, in Kent, England[5]. She disappears from the Census of 1881, only to reappear married to Frederick Charles (Godfrey) in 1891. She is living with her children William James, Frederick Charles and Edith Florence at 43 Arden Street, in the Village of New Brompton, near Brompton Barracks, Gillingham Parish, Medway District, Kent, England[6].
By 1901, Frederick is back with his family at 60 Foreign Street, in the District of Lambeth, in South London, England, London Borough of Lambeth, London and Surrey, England. He and Emma Elizabeth live with their children William James, Frederick Charles, Edith Florence, Albert "Bert" Edward, George Archibald and Percival Scott Lambton[7]. However, the Census of 1911 reveals Emma is now widowed and living with her sons George Archibald and Walter Henry. They are lodging with Alfred (Stamford), his wife, Alice and their children Alfred, William and Alice at 4 Saxton Street, Town of Gillingham, Gillingham Parish, Medway District, in Kent, England. Her occupation is recorded as being a Hired Machinist[8]. With the arrival of the 1939 England and Wales Register, Emma Elizabeth (Munden/Godfrey) is a Domestic Servant to Ellen E (Macey) and Ellen's son, Walter J. (Macey) at 18 St. George's Road, in the Town of Gillingham, Gillingham M.B., Medway District, Kent, England[9].
Emma Elizabeth died on the 26 July 1953 at Milton Regis Hospital 1 St. George's Road, in the Town of Gillingham, in Kent, England at the age of 87 years. She is interred in Grange Road Cemetery, Gillingham Parish, Town of Gillingham, north east of the Town of Chatham, in Kent, England on the 29 July 1953.
