Biography of James Brock

James was born about 1735. James Brock married at a public meeting, Sarah Bailey, daughter of Benjamin Bailey of Southampton County, Virginia on 18 Oct 1772.

They had the following children:

  1. Burwell Brock
  2. Martha Brock
  3. Pharaby Brock
  4. Abigail Brock
  5. Rhoda Brock

When it came to the Brock side of the family. The following information was gleaned from the Quaker Meeting files:

  • In 1755 Lucy Brok at liberty to marry Elijah Bailey.
  • 21 Nov 1772 James Brock reported married to Sarah Bailey
  • 1791 Martha Brock reported married to Peter Binford
  • 1794 Paraby Brock reported married to Samuel Hunnicut
  • 1801 Sarah Brock was released as overseer for the Black Water Particular Meeting
  • 24 Feb 1802 Abigail Brock reported married t Modecia Peebles
  • 25 Mar 1807 James Brock and others (Stephen Bailey & Elijah Peebles) were given a minute to travel into the state of Ohio.[1]
