My natural grandmother, Marguerite claimed to be French Indian. Her father's name was Oscar (Probably Robert Oscar) Bromagin, and her mother was Cora E. Chelf.

Her own grandmother, although raised in Louisiana, appears to be Scotch Irish, although many Louisianans at that time were interesting mixes of cultures and nationalities. I welcome ALL to help unravel this mystery.

However, at 13 yrs old she is found to be living with the family of Walter Jones, in St Joseph, MO. When I research Walter Jones, his maternal ancestry goes directly back to Alexander MacGillivray, who was a leader of the Creek Indian tribe, and descended from Scottish, French and Native American stock. I have NO PROOF that Walter Jones was the natural father of Marguerite, nor do I know for sure WHY she was sent to live with that family, but I share my research for those interested.
