Biography

Mary Anna was christened Anna Marie Brock June 6, 1870 at Gross Leistenau, Westpreussen, Prussia, now known as Lisnowo, Poland. Her christening record lists her birth date as May 17, 1870.[1]

Mary Anna Brock, age 4, emigrated from Prussia to the USA with her mom and dad, Michael, age 38, and Louisa Brock, age 28, with brother Gustav Brock age 8 and sister Louise Brock age1.

Making thier way to Hamburg, Germany on 13 November 1874 aboard the Hansa they traveled to Hull, England, and from there to Liverpool for the next leg of their journey taking them from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland to New York, New York, upon the ship the Minnesota. They arrived in the US December 3 1874.

From New York they went to Des Moines, Iowa where they settled and raised their family.
