Biography

John Brooks was born in Woburn, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1749, the son of Timothy Brooks and Ruth Wyman.[1][2]


John Brooks died in Salem, Massachusetts, on April 22, 1796.[1]

John Brooks married Abigail Richardson in 1771. John Brooks sister Ruth married John's brother Josiah, and Thomas Brooks, brother to both Ruth and John Brooks, married Mary Richardson, sister to Abigail and Josiah Richardson.[3]

John and Abigail Brooks lived in Salem, she died May 1 1831.[3]

Brooks-6408 and Brooks-6287 appear to represent the same person because: Same name. Although Brooks-6408 has no dates, John Brooks' marriage to Abigail Richardson in 1771 is sourced by both profiles, and the dates cited by Brooks-6237 match with sources there.

Chip, do you know of these Brooks families? some lived Mass others Penns. I've added some notes to Jonas and William's profiles with a source.

Jonas does not appear to be the father of Richardson ...
