Carl Raymond Brooks Jr. Obituary MERIDEN Carl Raymond Brooks Jr., 60, of Meriden, KS, formerly of Earlington, KY, passed away Oct. 21, 2010 at 6:04 p.m. at Stormont-Vail in Topeka, KS. He was born Dec. 11, 1949 in Madisonville, KY to the late Carl Raymond Brooks Sr. and Betty McCulley Brooks. He was a member of the Meriden Community Church. He was also owner and bass singer for the Gloryland Quartet. He graduated in 1967 from Earlington High School and has a masters degree of Christian Long Term Care Administration from Trinity Institute Of Christian Counseling. He was a US Army veteran serving as a Lab Tech at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Topeka. Survivors other than his mother are his wife of 31 years, Barbara Lane Brooks, his sons, Carl Wesley Brooks and his wife Christy of Suthards, KY and Jeffery Waide Brooks and his wife Barbara of Madisonville KY; daughters, Carla Brooks Butler and her husband Ryan of Auburn, KS and Carrie Jane Brooks of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Ruth Brooks Marshall and her husband Ronnie of Marion, KY and one brother, George Brooks and his wife Christi of Earlington, KY. Carl had seven grandchildren that he loved dearly, he also had several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Meriden Community Church Music Fund. There will be a celebration of life memorial service Friday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Meriden Community Church, 200 Dawson St., Meriden, KS. Carl R. Brooks Jr.
